which oil do you use & why

hello all,

i'm just curious about which oil everyone is using & why, i saw the prices of oils the other day in a shop, not cheap

I use the Agip moto 2t fully synthetic low smoke stuff, smells like burning plastic when you've been thrashing the scoot, but I reckon its good. Comes up to temp quickly and absolutely no smoke at all when the engine is hot - unless you thrash it as stated before...in which case its usually just a bit of excess oil in the exhaust which burns off in a min or so.

Its about $27 for 1lt from any Gull petrol station or Agip stockist.

Before that I tried running the Motul 710 Ester mix full synthetic, but that was a bit thin I think - my exhaust was full of oil after a few months of running that stuff.

I've been using the Fuchs Comp 2T for a while now as it is JSAO FD certed (most synthetics are only rated JSAO FC) stripped the scooter after 3500KM yesterday, VERY clean inside, barely any soot buildup in the combustion chamber or piston crown, and absolutley no coking up in the exhaust port

old topic but I should mention here that Repsol's 2T Scoot is also JASO FD rated, which is $27 for a 1 litre pack here at Scootling.

hi everyone,first off thought id say im stoked to find this forum and cant wait to mod my standard 08 cv50 sometime in the near future.

so far i have just been using the yamaha brand 2 stroke oil,but after reading this thread i was wondering if its ok for me to start using the motul 800 factory line ester 2T oil that i have left over from my old dirt bike?

i recently put old motor oil in my sj50 big mistake....even if leaking do not do this

New to scooting world. Have a '99 Piaggio Zip 50cc. Currently using Motul 2T 800 Full Synthetic. Seems to run good.
