The end of the JOG!!!

Post by bazbo »

Sad news from Yamaha:

"The Jog CV50A has been discontinued for New Zealand and Australian market. Only remaining stock are being sold.
Marketing are planning to review the possibility of a replacement model in the future, no confirmation at this stage. "

But exciting if they decide bring something else in...hopefully the Aerox!!!

Does that mean they'll become 'classic' and collectable in the future, and will we be able to sell them for more than they were worth brand new in 50 years time? :D

Yeah but it's not just any old four stroker. Fuel injected, liquid cooled and sohc + three valves, fuel tank under the floor etc etc. Really, it sets a new standard for moped class scooters in NZ. The only question is whether it will sell as this section of the market is VERY price conscious. For $3000( and the dreaded ORC) you could just about get two Chinese landfill fillers!

But have you read any reviews ? It may have all the bells and whistles , but it's still as slow AS! I love the design and features, but a 50cc four stroke is not my idea of fun .2 stroke rules !

Can't be too bad. My family has 2 Honda today's and they don't go too bad with the pulley kit on. Less acceleration but very smooth and quiet. I quite like riding them actually.
Any more than 2 strokes is masturbation

Here's a good view of the new BeeWee 50f which is replacing the Yamaha Jog in the NZ market. I hope Scootling don't mind this link to a competitors site but this pdf gives such a good view of the scooter, showing the fuel tank mounted under the floor. Not exactly a thing of beauty IMO. They're obviously going for the chunky off road look. BTW, a 60 month term for the loan, that's five whole years!! $3000 puts it well above the price of last Jog, maybe too much when something like the new Honda Dio 110 NSC is also retailing at the same amount.
