Finding the petcock and fuel line should be super easy.

go to carb...follow hoses not cables.

One will go the block somewhere, to act as the vaccum.

one will go to petcock, and the fuel tank...

Remove the seat to and plastic and it should easy enough.

Can you actually get a manual or even a users manual or parts diagram so you can see whet fits where?
I have picked up a 2002 LJ50 ( qt?) with lapsed rego that hasn't run for a couple of years. It's all there and now runs but I'd like a bit of help. Does anyone upgrade these?? or is that a dumb question?
