So heres the story. I've been riding a scooter for several years now and always thos that it was within the rules to take a pillion passenger on a scooter with a learners car license. I looked in the road code and on the internet and never found anything telling me i couldn't. I've been through checkpoints and past cops all the time and never had any issues. Turns out in 2008 they inserted a subclause http://tinyurl.com/yzf6cbc stating that it was no longer permitted. Is it ethical that they can just insert subclauses without notifying moped operators then issue us fines for not knowing them?
Also after looking at the conditions for restricted car license it appears that one is permitted to take pillion passenger provided that the passenger is a legitimate supervisor (full license for 2+ years), your spouse or your dependant http://tinyurl.com/yj538v8 .
Any oppinions are welcome. Please no "Know it all" comments read the legislation before commenting plz.
Oh and btw i know i shudve upgraded my license by now but havent seen the point since i only scooter. might have to now tho
cheers James
