hi,
Can anyone please confirm weather I can take the practical restricted licence test on a 125 vespa scooter. I've been told by Land Transport that I need an actual motorcycle, but then read that as long as the scooter's registered as a motorbike, which it is as it's a 125cc. Someone please clarify
cheers

Yes you can its a motorcycle as far as rego goes, its only mopeds that can't be used ( not a motorcycle or fast enough).
One thing the tester will look for is that you aren't riding to slow in a 100 kph zone they can fail you on that part if your travelling to far under 90kph so make sure it can do a genuine 90+ kph maybe get a friend in a car to follow to check the speedo accuracy.
I have heard of someone doing it with a UZ 125.
Explain the scooter to the tester, so they understand the controls are different than those on a motorbike especially if its a twist-n-go, some of them can be a bit silly about what foot you put down first.
They aren't as hard on scooters as they are on fully worked Aprillia RS125 learner sport bikes.
Good luck!
