Post by scooterzoid »

hi all what a great day sunday was the gilera and its extra power was awersome i came last the first race but pushing it harder in the second race i managed to out brake and cut past paul and kev on the last lap to take fourth making me one happy chap knowing the beast i have built is competitive ,a little more power and riding skill is needed to take on the top three ryan taking both wins on his 172 lx 50 closely followed buy matt on his lamy and glenn on his 210 vespa small frame ,it was a great spectacle for the crowd we were told with all in mad starts making good entertainment ,come on you guys a fast 70 with average rider will be competative clint who is a big guy last year was always in the top five on his pollini evo lx 50

That sure was a great afternoon, love to see some more Auto's taking on the 4 speeds. The brakes on your Gilera are so quiet yet great short braking.

Need more of thos modded 50 on the track, pleanty of room for everyone.

I completely agree, we need more 70cc down at the track! I missed racing last Sunday but did something else productive; finally getting the Dio running again (albeit with a smaller capacity cylinder) and the Derbi Hunter 50, with its new Address V100 engine, bored and stroked to 125cc. One of the local Grey Lynn cops will tell you how fast that Hunter is, and how nimbly it evades capture

It sounds like everyone has gone for much bigger engines at the circuit these days, but as scooterzoid mentioned a well set up 70cc can be very quick at that Mt Wellington track.
scootling is all good
